Overview of grid
Grid connection follows a fairly straightforward procedure, especially for RES plants under a net-metering/ net-billing scheme. Curtailment is possible for reasons of grid security, while grid development works are always included and foreseen in the grid connection agreement.
Connection to the grid
RES plant operators apply for a grid connection offer to EAC (RES plants ≤ 8MW) or TSO Cyprus (RES plants > 8MW). After examination, EAC/ TSO issues a grid connection offer that is accepted by the RES plant operator. The RES installation is realised and after a final check, it can be connected to the grid.
Use of the grid
Curtailment is possible for reasons of grid safety and stability.
Grid development
Grid connection agreement includes all necessary grid expansion works needed to be carried out.
