Marie Galante

A true pearl of the West Indies, Marie-Galante is a small paradise for its 10,000 residents and many tourists. The island is a land of rural traditions that cultivates a peaceful way of life. It has a picturesque charm, countless white sand beaches, and lagoons bordered by coral reefs. With an area of 158km², the island is commonly called the "Grande Galette" (big pancake) due to its circular shape and its low relief.

Lampedusa

Lampedusa is one of the Italian Pelagie Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. 

The Comune di Lampedusa e Linosa (municipality) in cooperation with Politecnico di Torino applied to the second round of the Clean energy for EU islands technical assistance in March 2022 to receive financial support on a project that is currently at the concept status: RE24S project, in Lampedusa.

Chalki

Halki (Greek: Χάλκη; alternatively Chalce or Chalki) is a Greek island and municipality in the Dodecanese archipelago in the Aegean Sea, some 9 km (6 mi) west of Rhodes. With an area of 28km² (11 sq mi), it is the smallest inhabited island of the Dodecanese. It is part of the Rhodes regional unit.

Kassos

Located in the southern Aegean Sea, Kassos is one of the islands comprising the circle of Dodecanese. Because of its location, Kassos maintains its originality and avoids the commercialisation many other islands have suffered. It features traditional festivals with unique musicians and local food specialities.Energy situation on KassosKassos is connected to Karpathos island with two underwater power cables. In Karpathos, a polluting power plant operates. There are no energy-efficient buildings in Kasos.

Ilha da Culatra

Ilha da Culatra (Culatra Island) is a large sandy island located just south of the cities of Olhão and Faro in Portugal. The island is part of the Ria Formosa National Park and, therefore, has to follow strict rules for its development. There are no paved roads in Culatra. You will get to know the island on foot once you reach it by ferry. The island is about 6 kilometres long, and its width ranges from 100 to 900 meters.

Cres & Lošinj

The Cres & Losinj archipelago, situated in the Kvarner Gulf in Croatia, is the largest in the Adriatic Sea. In ancient times, the islands of Cres and Lošinj were one big island. But as the small strip of land between the two islands was the fastest way to cross this region by ship, the channel of Osor was excavated during the Roman period to shorten the path to the open sea.

Symi

Symi is located in the South-east Aegean Sea. It has a population of about 2,650 people. During the tourist season, there are approximately 20,000 tourists on the island. Symi's main economic activities are tourism and fishing.  Electricity supplyThe main energy source is a powerplant using petrol engines to generate electricity.  However, there also are renewable sources on the island. There is a ferry to and from the island, to get to Rhodes, it takes about 1 h and 12 h to Pireaus.The island's population usually travels by bus, bike, and car.
