Founded in 1985 in Switzerland, Planair was created to offer engineering and advisory services for sustainable development. The Planair team develops and implements innovative solutions in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency, island & smart grid systems planning, engineering and industry partnerships.

Our clients come from many domains:  public authorities, institutional investors, industry, renewable energy project development, real estate development and architects. We design sustainable development solutions at the national scale, to the scale of an individual building.  As a consulting engineering firm and member of the Swiss Society of Engineers & Architects (SIA), Planair is a fully independent and neutral advisor, engaged to defend the best interests of its clients.

Our Smart Grid team offers scenario planning, feasibility studies, and infrastructure and engineering planning at the distribution network level for geographical islands, as well as at the community level. Our tools enable detailed comparative analysis of different configurations of 100% renewables scenarios for the clean energy transition. Today this offer covers planning for energy supply, waste and e-mobility, with desalination in 2020. Our technology scope covers solar, wind, waste to energy, battery and hydrogen storage.
