Support of RES-T infrastructure – charging for e-vehicles (Climate Leap)

Abbreviated form of legal source(s)

Ordinance 2015:517

Summary

This broad programme offers ample funding for local and regional measures for cutting emissions in different sectors. The programme prioritises the spread of new technologies, improved public health and employment. The programme is interdisciplinary and intersectoral, meaning that concrete climate investments related to e.g., transport, industry, residential sector, energy and construction are eligible.
Within the programme support for constructing e-vehicle charging station infrastructure is envisaged in the form of a subsidy (art 1 Ordinance 2015:517). From June 2020 onwards, special attention is being paid into improving the publicly available fast charging network (50kW or higher). Apart from that, the subsidy scheme does not specify the power requirements for the installed charging infrastructure.
In the state budget for 2021, a total of SEK 1.9 billion (approx. EUR 188 million) was reserved for the Climate Leap programme (including the support scheme for e-vehicle charging infrastructure).
