Clean energy for EU islands workshop: Sustainable land transport: hybrid / full electric / hydrogen / shared mobility

Within the framework of the technical assistance provided to the 30for2030 islands and islands groups, special attention is placed on providing the local teams with tools and knowledge to support them in the development of RE and EE projects. With this objective, the Clean energy for EU islands secretariat is organising a series of 20 workshops over the course of three years, to promote capacity building on relevant topics. The workshops are held in person on selected islands, and involve representatives from the island transition teams of a varying number of interested islands.

Clean energy for EU islands workshop: Strategies for Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement on Energy and Sustainability

Join our Clean energy for EU islands team for an immersive workshop focused on "Strategies for Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement on Energy and Sustainability". This workshop is part of our ongoing series of capacity-building initiatives aimed at supporting the 30 for 2030 islands and island groups in their transition to renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

8th Hybrid Power Plants & Systems Workshop

One challenge of island grids and micro-grids is to maintain the balance between production and consumption. Diesel generators are still frequently used for this task. Due to the unavoidable dependence on fuel price and delivery options, and the environmental impact, alternatives are being sought. Wind and solar power are independent of imported fuels and environmentally friendly, and therefore the logical choice for island and micro-grids.

Island Voices @ COP28

During COP28 Island Innovation plans to create an “Island Voices” space where we will share key insights and developments related to remote, rural and island communities. Island Innovation wants to ensure that your communities are represented and that relevant information is made available to you. Given that 20% of UN member states are part of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), we expect there to be a number of conversations relating to islands.
