EUSEW Session: Housing for resilient cities: empowering citizens for a clean energy transition

The Clean energy for EU islands secretariat will participate in this session exploring policy tools and local best practices to ensure affordable, decarbonised housing and combat energy poverty in European cities, supporting the EU’s energy and climate goals.Affordable, sustainable housing is key to achieving climate neutrality while ensuring social equity. Buildings account for 40% of the EU’s energy consumption and 36% of greenhouse gas emissions, making energy efficiency and renovation central to the EU Green Deal and Renovation Wave.

#CE4EUislands – Conference: Strengthening EU islands’ grids and electricity systems towards a 100% renewable supply

European Sustainable Energy Week

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Policy Conference is the biggest conference dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. The 19th edition of the Policy Conference will take place in a hybrid format, in Brussels and online on 10-12 June 2025.The European Commission and energy stakeholders are organising sessions that focus on sustainable energy issues, highlighting new policy developments, best practices, and innovative ideas.

16th Citizens’ Energy Forum

This year’s forum, ‘Towards a Citizens Energy Package: Empowering citizens for a just energy transition’, takes place in the context of the next Commission mandate, following the European elections earlier this year. It will kickstart work on the Commission’s Citizens Energy Package, which will increase citizen participation in the energy transition and strengthen the social dimension of the Energy Union.It will be live web-streamed, with the possibility for the online audience to engage. The working language is English, and interpretation is not guaranteed.

The EU islands secretariat takes part in this year's Virtual Island Summit

The Summit will imitate a traditional in-person event with opportunities to interact with speakers and other attendees with the goal of creating an online community. It will be a free event to attend in order to ensure maximum accessibility to expertise from a variety of fields.The Virtual Island Summit 2024 will host eight Content Tracks.
