Support of RES-T infrastructure – Charging Equipment for E-Vehicles in the Azores Autonomous Region

Abbreviated form of legal source(s)

DRR 4/2021/A

Summary

As part of the financial strategy to encourage the acquisition of electric vehicles by the Azorean population, the regional government added incentives for the acquisition of charging stations as well. These equipment are subject to similar rules as those for the acquisition of electric vehicles.
The granting of a financial incentive for the acquisition of charging stations is contingent upon the applicant’s prior approval of the incentive related to the acquisition of light vehicles. This means that only candidates that have applied for a subsidy for electric light vehicles will be eligible to get the one for charging stations (art. 12, paragraph 2 DRR 4/2021/A). Both applications, for light vehicles and charging stations, may be submitted concomitantly.
The amount of the financial incentive for the acquisition of charging stations, either by natural or legal persons, if fixed at 50% of the sale price, up to a maximum of EUR 500 (art. 12, paragraph 1 DRR 4/2021/A).
Applications for the incentive can be submitted within 90 days after the charging point has been acquired (bought) or rented – in the latter, the contract ought to have a minimum duration of sixty months (art. 4, paragraph 2 DRR 4/2021/A).

Addressees
