Serifos is focused on sustainable development and preserving its natural beauty. In the Follower Islands programme framework, Serifos aims to transition to a more sustainable and resilient energy system. The municipality of Serifos is actively working on several projects that will contribute to its energy transition. One of the key projects is the Electric Vehicle Charging Plan (EVCP), which focuses on establishing publicly accessible EV charging stations and parking spaces. Additionally, Serifos is developing a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), which will address the mobility needs of the island’s residents and visitors, promoting a better quality of life while reducing environmental impacts. Through these initiatives, Serifos aims to enhance its energy autonomy, promote sustainable practices, and become an energy transition model for other islands in the region.
