Subsidy (Fonds Chaleur)

Abbreviated form of legal source(s)

Loi n° 2009-967

Description of support scheme

The Fonds Chaleur is intended to support the production of renewable heat. The subsidy has been managed by ADEME since 2009 and is intended for collective housing, local authorities and companies. The scheme provides financial support for studies and investments based on percentages determined by ADEME.

Amount

The amount of the subsidy is defined by a case-by-case analysis for other projects.
Overall, the Fonds Chaleur will disburse €350 million in 2021.

Addressees

Successful tenderers receive the subsidy from ADEME based on the quantity of energy they plan to produce relative to the amount of requested financing.

Procedure

An annual call for tenders is published. The submitted projects have to abide to the eligibility criteria of the tender. ADEME is then charged by the French State to implement the subsidy.
