Exemplary role of public authorities (energy efficiency)

Summary

Finnish authorities and other bodies owned by the central administration are obliged to purchase energy efficient products, services and buildings if made possible by other important criteria for public purchases (i.e., competition law, economic feasibility, sustainability and so on (art 29, 1338/2016).
For buildings, the minimum energy efficiency criteria are set out in the article 117 of the Land use and building Act. The criteria are calculated as an energy efficiency value, which is individual to each competent building project.
