Make the Islands Energy independent and Carbon Neutral by 2022.
We are a community owned energy cooperative on the Aran Islands at the mouth of Galway Bay representing the three Aran Islands and their inhabitants in terms of energy. We are leading the way in the energy transition since 2012. We, the residents of the three islands, are working towards becoming self-sufficient in locally generated renewable energy and free of dependence on oil, coal and gas by 2022. We alos are eavily involved in many EU research projects relating to clean energy/energy effieciency.
