This 3-hour online workshop aims to deliver initial results and lessons learnt from the experience of five sister H2020 projects on energy islands – namely COMPILE, iELECTRIX, MERLON, MUSE GRIDS.
The workshop format is geared toward dissemination and collaborative deliberations of various aspects regarding energy islands and energy community establishment and operation. It will be structured in four sessions: in the first session, the organising projects will explain their current results and the main challenges they faced when preparing for demonstrations and trials of their solutions in real-life pilot sites. The second session will be devoted to discussion focused on a specific aspect of energy community establishment and operation – organization/social, technical, regulatory/legal, business. The third session will be organised as a panel discussion, where experts on energy communities and citizen engagement can provide their views on successful practices on energy community establishment.
