Subsidy (Support for Solar Water Heaters)

Description of support scheme

The purpose of this scheme is to encourage the use of energy efficient equipment in households. Applicants will receive a grant to help them purchase and install solar water heaters.

Amount

Grant maximum: 75% of the costs of the Solar Water Heater itself, plus VAT, and capped at €1,400. After 5 years, an additional grant of €500 will be provided to cover the maintenance costs a receipt issued by the supplier.

Addressees

This scheme is funded through national funds and applies to natural persons for use in their residential properties, and for organisations that are not carrying out an economic activity.

Procedure

The application form is divided in two parts. Applicants must complete Part A of the application with their personal details. Part A must be completed and submitted to the REWS before the purchase and installation of the equipment. Part B must be completed and submitted to the REWS when the equipment is installed.
Payments of grant schemes will be processed after receipt of a fully and correctly completed Part B grant scheme application including all required documentation.
