Subsidy (Support for Heat Pump Water Heaters)

This scheme is a part of the Maltese government’s efforts to encourage the use of energy efficient equipment in the domestic sector. Applicant will receive a grant to help them purchase and install heat pump water heaters.

The grant covers 50% of the costs of the Heat Pump Water Heater itself, including VAT, and capped at €1000.

Private individuals (natural persons) for use in their residential properties, and for organisations that are not carrying out an economic activity.

The application form is divided into two parts. Applicants must complete Part A of the application and submit it to the REWS prior to the purchase and installation of the equipment. Applicants must await a confirmation letter issued by the REWS before purchasing and installing the equipment. Upon installation applicants are required to submit Part B application together with the necessary supporting documentation.
The grant is awarded after all criteria are met and the application has been approved.
