Description of support scheme

Buyers of environmentally friendly vehicles (including electric vehicles and vehicles with low CO2 emissions) receive an “eco bonus” incentive, which is increased when on older vehicle is being scrapped. Expenditure is limited to purchase of a vehicle under 50,000 € without tax (Art 3 DM 20/03/2019).

Amount

For EVs and vehicles with CO2 emissions up to 20 g/km the bonus amounts to €6,000. If no old vehicle (with an old internal combustion engine) is turned in, the direct maximum subsidy is reduced to €4,000.
For the purchase of vehicles with CO2 emissions between 20 g/km and 70 g/km the bonus amounts to €2,500. If no old vehicle (with an old internal combustion engine) is turned in, the direct maximum subsidy is reduced to €1,500. (Art 3 of DM 20/03/2019).

Addressees

The legislation does not provide restrictions in regards to beneficiaries.

Procedure

Car dealerships and their employees must register online with the Business Register of the Chambers of Commerce in order to access contributions and carry out the necessary procedures that will allow the discounted purchase of low-emission vehicles for their customers.
In order to get the support, potential buyers must contact a registered dealership directly, which will then take care of the application for subsidy.
