Description of support scheme

The German government incentivizes individual measures to reduce the carbon footprint in buildings by subsidizing the deployment of renewable heating and cooling installations in existing buildings in Germany.

Amount

The minimum investment sum is EUR 2,000. The subsidies can cover up to following percentage of the investments’ costs:
• 30% for solar thermal installations,
• 35 % for aerothermal and hydrothermal installations,
• 35-40 % for biomass installations,
• 35 % for innovative technology.
10 % are added for the replacement of an oil heating installation.

Natural persons, Condominium communities, self-employed persons, Municipalities and municipal associations, Public bodies, non-profit organisations, churches, businesses, other juridical persons

Procedure

The application for this subsidy must be done before the installation of the system. It can be done directly at the BAFA.
