Summary

Renewable energy systems for electricity production must comply with the minimum technical requirements defined in the Energy Industry Law (§§ 19 and 49 EnWG 2021). This includes regulations from the Federal Grid Agency, the Association for Electrical Engineering, Electronics, and Information Technology and the German Norming Institute (DIN). All installations producing electricity from renewable energies must be registered in the market data register (§ 5 MaStRV 2020).
The German TÜV provides programmes to facilitate the certification of e.g., wind turbines (TÜV Rheinland 2021b).
