Energy efficiency measure (Subsidy - energy aid for housing)

Description of support scheme

Owners of residential buildings (both housing communities and owners of detached houses) can apply for government support for improving the energy efficiency of their residential building.
The subsidy can be used for planning and executing the building’s energy efficiency. In housing communities, such as blocks of houses or row houses, the measures have to improve energy efficiency by a minimum of 20%, and in detached houses, at least by 30%. Buildings that aim at a zero-energy level are also eligible for the support (Arts 3-4, Decree 1341/2019).
This instrument has been in use since the beginning of 2020, and support is available at least until the end of 2022. Applications are welcomed on a rolling basis.

Amount

The subsidy amounts to up to EUR 4.000–6.000/house or apartment, but no more than 50% of the costs of the subsidised measures (Art 6, Decree 1341/2019).

Addressees

Owners of residence buildings – detached houses, housing communities or companies (Art 5, Decree 1341/2019).

Procedure

The applicant will submit an electronic application to ARA prior to beginning any construction works. The application has to include calculations of the starting point on where the building currently stands regarding to energy efficiency, and an expert’s assessment on the measures that should be taken in order to improve energy efficiency (Art 7, Decree 1341/2019).
