The Elafiti is a small archipelago situated northwest of Dubrovnik urban area, within the administrative unit of the City. There are three main islands - Kolocep, Lopud and Sipan with a total surface area of 30km² and a population of fewer than 1,000 people that increases a couple of times during the summer months.

Energy transition

The Elafiti islands are just beginning their energy transition. All islands are reachable in an hour and a half by conventional daily ferry service. However, this is not adequate for the summer periods, so new mobility, functional and sustainable solutions are required. Electric and low-emission transport solutions connecting islands like electric, solar boats would be an optimal solution for short-distance trips like this one, providing the low-emission vessel for significant reduction of sea and island pollution.
