Clean energy for EU islands workshop: Sustainable land transport: hybrid / full electric / hydrogen / shared mobility

Within the framework of the technical assistance provided to the 30for2030 islands and islands groups, special attention is placed on providing the local teams with tools and knowledge to support them in the development of RE and EE projects.With this objective, the Clean energy for EU islands secretariat is organising a series of 20 workshops over the course of three years, to promote capacity building on relevant topics.The workshops are held in person on selected islands, and involve representatives from the island transition teams of a varying number of interested islands.

Saaremaa and Ruhnu Islands to Play Pivotal Role in Baltic Energy Hub Initiative

Saaremaa and Ruhnu Islands are set to emerge as integral components of a transformative energy hub, spearheading the region's transition towards renewable energy. Ocean Energy Europe: Minesto’s 1.2 MW Dragon 12 Generates First Power

Minesto, leading ocean energy developer, today announces that a key milestone has been reached: The utility-scale tidal powerplant Dragon 12 – rated at 1.2 MW – has been successfully commissioned and, in the early morning of February 9, delivered its first electricity to the national grid in the Faroe Islands.The Dragon 12 is Minesto’s first tidal energy kite in megawatt scale. It has now been successfully commissioned and has generated electricity at satisfactory levels in its first phase of operation.

Sherkin Island, Ireland, is located southwest of County Cork - together with the islands of Roaringwater Bay. The island is interconnected to the neighbouring island of Cape Clear.
