La Graciosa, a beautiful island situated in the Canary Islands archipelago, has emerged as a pioneer in clean energy adoption. With its commitment to sustainability and environment as the largest marine reserve within the EU, La Graciosa has successfully harnessed the power of renewable energy as part of the REACT project. The island utilizes solar panels and founded an energy community after the REACT project's works were completed. La Graciosa's fresh water supply is entirely dependend on Lanzarote. Therefore, the island is striving to increase renewable energy production and create fresh water with a desalination plant itself. This forward-thinking approach serves as an inspiration to other communities, demonstrating the potential for clean energy to drive positive change and create a sustainable future.
