Public lectures and meetings with representatives of local governments on Brač island

The project ‘’Islands - leaders of the clean energy transition" includes six Brač municipalities: Bol, Selca and Pučišća, Postira, Nerežišća and the City of Supetar. 

The Island Movement team held six meetings with representatives of local governments and six public lectures for inhabitants that were led by the Island Movement's experts in community development and energy transition - Maja Jurišić and Ivan Zoković. In total, about 50 inhabitants of the island of Brač visited the lectures.

 

High school programme

Within the project ‘’Islands - leaders of the clean energy transition" there is an educational program for high school teachers under the expert guidance of Mag. educ. geogr. Antonio Morić Španić is conducting meetings with high school representatives and planning green projects that will be made by the end of this school year and included in next year’s curriculum.

The high schools involved in the project are:

● High school Bol (Brač),

● High school Brac, Supetar,

● Stonemasonry School Pučišća (Brač),

● Antun Matijašević Karamaneo High School (Vis),

● Korcula High School,

● High school Vela Luka (Korcula) and

● Hvar High School.

 

Webinar "Sources of funding for renewable energy projects on the islands"

As part of the project "Leading Islands of Clean Energy", a webinar "Citizens and solar power plants" has been held so far, and in the coming period comes E-mobility.

The webinar "Sources of funding for renewable energy projects on the islands" was moderated by Maja Jurišić, president of the Island Movement and expert on island energy transition. Her guests were Veljko Radić, Head of the Sector for Programming, Planning and Evaluation of the Island Development Policy on behalf of the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds; Maja Pokrovac, Director of the Renewable Energy Sources Economic Association Croatia and Mojca Soža, an expert in strategic planning in energy in front of the consulting company "Vitar u Krmu" (transl. wind in the stern).

The project is co-financed by the Croatian Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds. The project partners are the Split-Dalmatia County, the Municipality of Lumbarda, the City of Korčula, the City of Stari Grad, the City of Supetar, the Municipality of Bol, the Municipality of Postira, the Municipality of Selca, the Municipality of Nerežišča and the Municipality of Pučišča.
