The Clean energy for EU islands secretariat has proudly announced the winners of its sixth Call for Postcards, celebrating the unique beauty and renewable energy initiatives of European islands. This year's winners are the islands of Pašman and Saba, whose stunning photographs captured the essence of sustainable energy in picturesque settings.
Pašman: Maja Dešpoja, captured a beautiful sunset on the Croatian island showcasing a relaxing and idyllic side of the island.
Saba: Saba's winning postcard features the island's impressive Solar Park, which includes Phases 1 and 2. This solar park allows 34% of the island's energy demand to be met with clean energy, and during optimal conditions, the island can run entirely on clean energy during daylight hours. The photograph, taken by Mark Zagers from Saba Electric Company, perfectly captures the island's dedication to renewable energy and its stunning natural beauty.
These postcards will be distributed at the upcoming EU islands forum in 2025, serving as a reminder of the islands' efforts towards a greener future. The winning images will also be showcased on the Clean energy for EU islands secretariat's social media platforms and website, inspiring others to embrace renewable energy solutions.

Congratulations to the winners for their outstanding contributions to promoting clean energy and sustainability across European islands.
