Connection to the grid
Connection to the Heat Grid is voluntary. Both the connection fee and the maximum price for heat are determined by the regulator, where the maximum price for heat consists of a variable and fixed part.
Use of the grid
The heat supplier is responsible for a reliable supply of heat at reasonable costs, which are regulated by the ACM – the Dutch regulatory authority. In case of a serious malfunction, the customer is entitled to a compensation.
Grid development
Heat grid development can either be initiated by a commercial heat supplier or a municipality, putting out a tender for a specific ‘heating-plot’, usually a complete neighbourhood.
